Fitti Weissglas

Managing Director

Fitti Weissglas is a software engineer, data engineer, and technical architect with a background in epidemiology and an MBA. He combines deep technical expertise with strategic and organisational insight, and has spent more than two decades building data-driven systems for both public and private sector organisations.

He worked for many years at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he founded and led the Health Informatics Hub. In that role, he managed an international team of over 45 software developers and data engineers, and led the design and delivery of large-scale data and digital health systems for ministries of health, research institutions, and international partners across more than twenty countries.

With experience spanning software engineering, data engineering, epidemiology, and management, Fitti specialises in translating complex and imperfect data into systems that support analysis, decision-making, and long-term operation.

Through Data XL, he now applies this experience in an independent engineering context, working with organisations to design and build data and software systems that are robust, transparent, and fit for real-world use.
